Alfanzina Lighthouse

 Alfanzina Lighthouse – A Historic Beacon on the Algarve Coast 
Perched atop the dramatic cliffs of the Carvoeiro coastline, the Alfanzina Lighthouse (Farol de Alfanzina) has guided sailors since 1920. Its white tower and red dome are a striking sight against the deep blue Atlantic, and it remains an active aid to navigation today.
Located near the famous Benagil and Marinha beaches, the lighthouse area offers panoramic views of the coast and is a peaceful stop along the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail — one of the Algarve’s most scenic hikes.
Though the lighthouse itself is usually closed to the public, it can be admired from nearby trails and cliff viewpoints. During special events like Portugal’s Lighthouse Day, it occasionally opens for guided tours.
